What this policy covers

This policy covers the Splicko marketing website and the Splicko Shopify app.

What data we access

Through the Shopify app

  • Product data (titles, descriptions, images, variants, metafields)
  • Theme data (for robots.txt analysis)
  • Store metadata

We do not access customer data, order data, or payment information.

Through the website

  • Contact form submissions (name, email, message)
  • Analytics data via Google Tag Manager (page views, interactions)

How we use your data

  • Product data is used to calculate AI readability scores, generate optimization recommendations, and apply auto-fixes (schema injection, content optimization).
  • Product content may be sent to third-party AI services (such as Google Gemini) for description optimization.
  • Website analytics are used to improve the site experience.
  • Contact form data is used to respond to your inquiries.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data.
  • We do not use merchant data to train AI or machine learning models.
  • We do not share data with third parties except as needed to provide the service (AI optimization APIs).
  • We do not access customer or order data.

Data storage and security

  • Data is stored on encrypted servers.
  • All data is transmitted over TLS.
  • We retain app data while your app is installed.

Data deletion

When you uninstall Splicko, we delete all your store data within 30 days per Shopify's requirements. You can also request deletion at any time by emailing hello@splicko.com.

Your rights

  • You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data.
  • EU merchants have rights under the GDPR.
  • California merchants have rights under the CCPA/CPRA.
  • Contact hello@splicko.com to exercise any of these rights.

Cookies and tracking

The website uses Google Tag Manager for analytics. No cookies are set by the Shopify app itself.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated through the app or website.
